Totally Radical 13 Birthday Party

This tubular 13 year old wanted to have  an 80's wet and wild theme party.  Of course most of her friends had no idea what it was like in the 80's but they dressed the part (I'm sure with some help form their moms.) They did a fashion contest before changing into their bathing suits and hitting the huge jumper water slide. The decor for the party was NEON!!! Neon balloons, tablecloths, napkins, forks, etc.  The tables had black and white checkered table cloths with a lime green table runner.  We wrapped vases in bright colors and filled them with paper flowers and of course an 80's party wouldn't be complete with out some neon rope friendship bracelets. We also made some 80's words as well as poms and lanterns.

For those of us around in the 80's...remember mixed tapes???? Well this party girl's favor was a cd (since no one has tapes anymore we used cd's) filled with fun 80's music that they could dance around to.

Brenna's Birthday/Graduation Bash

On Saturday, we set up a party to celebrate Raina's nieces 18th Birthday as well as her Graduation from High School. The colors were black, dark purple, and turquiose. The table centerpieces were glass trifle bowls with purple and black gems with a beta fish which come in bright colors like purple and turquiose. The fish were surrounded by an eclectic blend of candles ranging in heights, shapes, and sizes. Some had pillar candles, some floating, and some tea lights - we even filled a few with purple koolaid to color the water. Raina did a great job at wrapping all the candle holders in different ribbons, lace with feathers, and even some with bling! We set up a candy station which of course is a hit at every party as well as the coordinating backdrop behind it using some of the fun fabric we picked up during our visit to the LA Fabric District. We made a banner and a lawn sign as well. It was a fun night and lets just say we got down with our bad selves on the dance floor. Here are some photos of the deco.....

Yard sign...we hung the sign on one of our new tall
shepherds hook that we got from Joannes - for 60% off yessss!!!
